Tourist Spots in Santee

Santee, California is home to many tourist destinations that will surely make both local and international visitors coming back to visit once again.

One of its famous tourist spots is Santee Lakes, which is both a camping ground, a park, and a destination for travelers who may want to rent out a cabin.

“Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve hosts over 660,000 visitors a year. The 190‐acre Park with 7 beautiful recycled water lakes that are stocked with sport fish year-round.  The Park provides amenities including camping, cabin rentals, fishing, boating, special events, playgrounds, walking trails, and approximately 230 bird species.”

Another park that can be visited in Santee is the Mission Trails Regional Park. In its official website, it was described as one of the prime tourist spots in and Around Santee, California.

“Mission Trails Regional Park has been called the third Jewel in the City of San Diego Park System. Along with Balboa Park and Mission Bay Park, it provides San Diego residents and visitors a way to explore the cultural, historical, and recreational aspects of San Diego. Started in 1974, Mission Trails Regional Park has become one of the largest urban parks in the United States. Originally used by the Kumeyaay, the park is the site of the Old Mission Dam, built to store water for the Mission San Diego de Alcala.”

In addition to the 18-hole course designed by the son of World Golf Hall of Fame member Pete Dye, Carlton Oaks offers upscale, Asian-inspired accommodations and an on-site restaurant.
